About Veronica
Veronica Olmos is a passionate and versatile singer and percussionist hailing from the vibrant cultural landscape of Argentina. Rooted in the rich traditions of Argentine folk music and tango, she developed a deep appreciation for the musical tapestry of her culture. However, her musical journey took an unexpected turn when she began exploring the vibrant rhythms of Brazil and Uruguay during several trips in her formative years. These trips ignited her passion for Brazilian and Uruguayan music, inspiring her to delve into candombe, bossa nova, samba, forró, coco and MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) and made her interested in the complementary world of percussion leading her to take courses and classes with different masters in the world of Latin American percussion.
Simultaneously to her exploration of South American music, Veronica found herself drawn to the world of jazz. Fascinated by its improvisational nature and harmonic complexity, she dedicated herself to mastering the genre, studying jazz singing in one of the most recognized jazz schools in Argentina: School of Popular Music of Avellaneda. This experience gave her the opportunity to professionalize and hone her skills as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
Combining her love for Argentine folk music, Brazilian and Uruguayan rhythms, and jazz sensibilities, Veronica carved out her unique musical identity. Her performances are a fusion of these diverse influences, weaving together elements of nostalgia, passion and spontaneity. Her artistic journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of exploration. From intimates bars and cafes in La Plata and Buenos Aires to concert halls on the international stage, she had the privilege of sharing her music with audiences around the world.
Drawing inspiration from her heritage while embracing global influences, she strives to bridge cultural divides and connect with audiences on a profound level through the universal language of music.
As a recording artist, performer, and educator, she is committed to preserving the authenticity of South American music while pushing the boundaries of creativity.
